I quickly learned that I need good light for working with the black yarn. I should have used my CrochetLite but I think it is the wrong size hook. Mario is coming together nicely. He’s got a mustache, an ear, eyes and a nose-like shape. I made one error where I attached a peach and it should have been black so the scissors had to come out and cut it free. Eep, not good. I reattached everything in the right place and made sure that every square made its way to the right spot. Do not attach squares under assumption. There’s a bit of counting involved here and there; how many peach squares between his eyes and his mustache? How many black squares across? It’s more counting than anticipated and it reminded me a lot of cross-stitch. Luckily the areas are not huge amounts of one color so the chances of me miscounting and getting lost are not so high. I definitely do a lot of double checking after my error. I think that tomorrow I’ll get to work with the red for his hat.
